Meet AmberIt is my greatest honor to serve moms and families in providing the same sacred space I had for my birth. Every mom deserves to feel educated, empowered, and most of all, loved during her birth.
Upon getting pregnant with my first baby boy, I had big, intricate dreams for birth. But as most first time moms are, I was terrified. I started hearing all the traumatic birth stories, and I told myself it wasn’t possible for birth to feel the way I had dreamt it would. It was at that point that I knew if I wanted birth to be how I had dreamt it to be, hiring a doula was critical.
It was because of Nicki, our doula, and the teamwork of my husband and I that our birth turned out even better than we could have envisioned. It was the most ‘me’ I have ever felt in my whole life. I had never felt more beautiful, strong, empowered, educated or loved than I did on our son’s and my, birthday. This is where the desire to become a doula truly ignited for me and after a year of thinking and praying about it, it was the next natural step. I completed training through DONA International where I learned vital knowledge and skills in breastfeeding basics, childbirth education, and postpartum care. |
